    Hi,

my name is Alexander (im new to these forums). I live in Belgium. I'm 23 and ENFP. I'm searching a distance education master degree program that would suit me.

I included some information to help you make good suggestions for me. I'd really appreciate your help because I seem to get lost in the overwhelming amount of sites offering such services.

    My short background:

I have math-science high school education (the most difficult kind u can do in belgium)

Then i completed kandidatuur Informatica, which is set equal to Bachelor last year when Belgium started adapting to the international nomination for degrees.

My bachelor studies at traditional university were bad: i never attended classes, and got through the exams by studying the course one week prior to the examination. Yet University Ghent is together with University Leuven the hardest university in belgium and Belgium is worldwide praised for its level of education.

    my current situation:

    I work freelance - about 12 days a month - for citibank and a cellphone company - in hardselling and support. (= +- $1700 a month).

I do community work - 50 hours a month - non profit. Educating people in moral and religious context.

I work on open IT projects -
supportive leader and texture artist Project Revolution revolution.wc3campaigns.com is just one example.

I give IT support and programming/database/desktop publishing for our family business, which includes two offices and a specialisation school, as well as several friended small companies by people i know - most of the time as favor.

I study. I am always studying something in the evening. The subject chances as does my interest. Currently im learning Russian.

    My future plans:

I would like to serve as a fulltime volunteer worker in an international context.

I've allready have taken steps to apply for this.

Yet - it may take a while - several months (maybe even another year) - before I can leave. In the time that i remain in belgium i can use my free time more intensively towards a degree, and if I am called for 'duty' I should be able to finish what I started in a more slow paced way.

    what i am looking for:

    * a master program that is self-paced
Reason is that i can't guarantee how much time i will need to complete the program should i be abroad

    * affordable. I think between $5000 and $8000 is a directive for me.
price is not really a problem (dad supports) though for a first degree i dont want to spend too much.

    * I strongly prefer a system of continuous evalutation through assignments papers projects etc. If exams are neccesairy, I prefer open-book exams I dont see a point in memorising MASS theory., proctored exams by someone that is not your family (california coast university style) they dont force you to move locations and i could complete an exam where-ever i would be on the globe in the future or online or by regular mail - but in a way I dont get stressed over time.

    * accreditation DETC is sufficient. Regional is ok but not required.

    * credit I've given an overview of my background earlier. In your suggestion for a master programme for me, what suggestions you have that I must consider seriously in order to save time and money. I understood that there are some interesting ways to acquire credit, though i dont know if they apply for me.

Have you looked at this site http://bain4weeks.com/mastermenu.html

This is a great place to start. I comleted my MS at TUI (www.tourou.edu) and it would cost about 10K and it is somewhat self paced. You have an assignment due every two weeks but you can complete the program faster.

    Good luck
