    Hello,

I'm a 31 year old guy who now wants to complete a BS in Comp Sci then go on to get a MS in CS. I received my Bachelor's degree in Business Admin from the University of Washington in 1997, but went on to get a MCSE and A+ certifications because I enjoyed working in the technology sector so much. Heh...I probably would have been a CS major back then had I known how much I liked it. Currently, I'm enrolled at ACCIS, but had I done better research, I would have definitely gone a different route. Not because of what I have learned or my feelings on ACCIS, but because it sounds like it will be a joke to employers, or schools when I want to get my Master's. I will probably be able to finish my degree from ACCIS this year barring any major distractions. Should I finish this? Should I stop, and look for a better program immediately? Will I have any chance of having these credits transfer to an RA Master's program? General advice? Thanks so much!!!

PS - I should mention that my GPA at the UW wasn't that great in my last 1.5 years there, as I was focusing on a possible football career and generally disinterested in my field of study at that time. Since I'm now paying for school(ACCIS), and interested in my field of study, grades are near perfect, including a couple of prep courses I took at a local CC(calculus and CS110). High school GPA was 3.83, so other than that last 1.5 years at UW, I was doing great. Hopefully this can help you advise me. I'm 100% focused on this stuff - I love CS. Thanks!

I would seriously consider Troy University. The degree is low cost and very DL friendly. The one caveat I would mention is it is similiar to a CIS degree.

A couple of thoughts come to mind. if you are real close to finishing and can afford to complete at ACCIS and pursue other education, the degree is accredited. Better to have a completed degree than to waste the years invested to this point.

As with Dave I would recommend Troy. If you decide that a CIS degree is more suited for your career there are other options.

    Regards,

    Kevin
