I remember some of the universities in Colorado had reasonably priced English and Literature courses, but I cannot find the link. The course must be upper division. I am ruling out BYU because English for Adolescents required reading 2 books plus the text for each of the 14 assignments, a research paper, and proctored exam. Each assignment came with the expectation of at least a 3 page response to the books. Altogether, I read 30 books plus the text for this class and wrote 100 pages plus a proctored exam. I am interested in a Shakespeare class and again rule out BYU because their class is taught by the same drill sargeant.

    Try these:

    http://coned.colostate-pueblo.edu/indstdy/

    http://www.uidaho.edu/isi/collinfo.htm

    http://www.is.lsu.edu/home.asp?level=CO&online=0&nid=100

I think each of those will have upper division english available. I also don't think you will beat LSU's price. If it is possible to take lower level courses, then check out some community colleges, especially in New Mexico, as they can be quite inexpensive. Of course, they won't count as upper level...

I especially liked San Juan College where you can take 12 semester hours for about $400 as an out of stater...

anyway, hope some of those links help
