I will be pursuing my master's this fall and am considering Northern Arizona University's MA in Applied Communication. This program interests me because it has no residency, as my current work situation would preclude me from travel. Has anyone on this list had experience with this school or program?

NAU is one of three universities in the Arizona State system. It's a great school. The program is legit.

However, if I were you, I'd figure out some way to take at least some classes on campus. Flagstaff is a beautiful place. It would make a great vacation destination. You could take a day trip to the Grand Canyon (70 miles away). Drive the old Route 66. Visit some great Navajo sites.

I've heard it's a great part of the country, but my current job (in Southwestern New York) will preclude me from taking any courses on campus.

I'm still undecided about where I'm going to pursue my M.A.. I want to get a media or communications based degree, and I know that Northern Arizona is a legit school, and the price is reasonable.

I know it's a very new program, and am interested in hearing from anyone taking part in its first two semesters... what's great about the program or what's not so great... anything I should know going into the program...
