    Tireman,
FHSU accepted 9 hours of transfer, I think they tout 12 hours transfer, (which I didnt have) but after you get on board, you find out that is almost never the case in any department. However, after my chioce to leave FHSU after this semester I will have 19 hrs. credit...yes seems like a lot to lose 10-12 hours, but Mountain State University has a Interdisciplinary program in which you pick just about any legitimate concentration under the sun in 25 hours of core studies, so here's the skinny ( hopefully) upon approval:
    Converse College Tsarist Russia 3
    Converse College Europe 1870-1919 3
Converse College Civil Rights Era 3
FHSU Intro to Graduate Studies 1
    FHSU Renaissance and Reformation 3
FHSU Civil War and Reconstruction 3
    FHSU The Pacific Century 3
Northern Iowa State US 1919-45 3
Northern Iowa State US since 1945 3

    TOTAL 25
    Mountain State Methodology 3 (required)
    Mountain State Final project 8
    For that magic total of.......................36
Yes,It's all over the map...but as long as it works!
    Best, Gavin

Thank you very much Gavin. It will answers the questions that were posed to me. Good luck at Mountain State and keep rolling. History is a lonely occupation at times. :)
