Good Morning, I am searching for courses for my husband who works with students that have behavior issues. Suggestions appreciated. Hille

Hille - I'm happy to help, if I'm able, but your request is a bit too vague. What exactly is your husband wanting to learn? Does he actually need a "course" to learn it? Would a good text suffice. How about a seminar/workshop?

Are you referring to teaching special students with emotional problems and a tendency toward disruptive behavior? This is something my mother did for many years; a demanding occupation needing plenty of patience.

It seems to me mother had to take a set of special education courses as part of her teaching degree.

On the other hand, if you are talking about teaching genuinely destructive or violent students in a controlled environment, the institution itself is the best place to look first.

I'd recommend taking some courses at a local college or university. You might want to call your nearest mental health center for advice and/or recommendations. Most have interns who are in school taking such courses.
