Hello. I am a recent NCU MBA graduate. I always read this forum but this is the first time I decided to post a message. One of my friends who is a regular poster on this forum asked me to share my experiences at NCU and to be honest.

Well, I needed an MBA, and I needed it fast. Sorry to say, but I am also a lazy person and did not want to study much or do much work, so I choose NCU. My friend says I am not so bright, that's why I choose NCU.

Anyways, NCU was exactly as I'd imagined. I gained what I needed to gain which was a degree with an RA school. The courses were relatively simple and you are left alone to do your work. Some of the courses were so simple I did not have to do much work. I did not have time to do my assignments, so I left the work to the last minute, and managed to complete them within in a week before the final deadline.

The instructors sent me a lot of notes and really emphasized on copyrights etc... but most of my work was a straight copy from the internet and they never caught it. To be honest I don't think my work was ever read. They accepted whatever I submitted. Some courses I had to do a little work, but overall it was a very smooth and easy ride.

The rules changed a month before graduation. They wanted me to participate on the forums etc every week. Which ofcourse meant you post one sentence to a discussion.

Anyways, if you are looking for a degree from an RA school and are not concerned with what people think about the school, go for it. You won't have to do much work and the school work never interferes with your real life. And the end result is a nice degree on your wall.

So, I am now open to flames. :)
Ofcourse I won't get offended, because I merely stated the facts. And if NCU admin is reading this thread, I told it exactly as how it is. You may get offended, but that is the fact.

    Regards
    CP

This isn't a good post for distance learning. I only hope it's a troll and not in fact true. Anybody else that has attended NCU able to chime in? I had considered them for my MBA.

I don't doubt that such is possible. You can find examples of this at RA and unaccredited schools as well. You could also line up another NCU student who could share testiomnials of how rigorous her program was. A good student can get a good education at Podunk Holler State University, while someone can get a lousy education at Harvard.

    Ray,

NCU uses "Turnitin" and every student is required to attest to each document submitted as the student's work. If the individual actually did turn in work from the internet then I would suspect that NCU will be proactive in correcting its error. Further, the integrity being espoused just doesn't say much for the poster.

More importantly, if you really received an easy degree would you admit it? It would make more sense to say how hard the degree was and to make it sound like you toiled over candlelight and toted books so heavy you sank in the snow while walking barefoot to the bus stop.

I have found the classes at NCU to be on par with some B&M classes. Further, I recently had several classes and syllabi evaluated for credit transfer to another program. All the ones I wanted to transfer were accepted. I believe it is possible to complete the work as fast as you are able since you will receive the course syllabus and all assignments up front. You are expected to be an active self learner and are not penalized for completing course work early, although you can only start classes in accordance with school policy.

I think there are better options for a MBA due to NCU not having specialized business accreditation. For a PhD it is still a good choice if it fits.

    Good luck in your studies,

    Kevin

Why on earth would someone debunk their own degree and admit to plagiarism in writing, in public, under their real name?

Wow, true or not, this is behavior I’m surprised by and may speak to unstated motivation.

I think the NCU courses are not overly difficult but not that easy. As with any education, you get out what you put in. I have taken classes at B&M schools that were harder and easier than NCU.

I have only taken one course that was harder and more demanding than the NCU courses and that was from Indiana University.

The NCU courses are inline with TUI's classes.

Let me re-phrase - I have only taken one DL course that was harder and more demanding than the NCU courses and that was from Indiana University.

Christina Plager is a fake name I have used and [email protected] is a fake email. And I am using a proxy server. Anyways, I have nothing to hide. I am saying it like it is.

I did not say all of may assignments were copied. I am saying that for a lot of my courses I only did about a week's worth of work. Some courses required me to submit assignments on specific dates but they were not very strict on that. I was always late.

I did work for my MBA, but not much. The first course I did LS6010 could have been done in 2-3 days. How long does it take to put a string in several search engines and write down how many hits were found and which search engine provided better hits? not much. Most of my assignments were answering questions at the end of a chapter. Well, that's not so difficult either. Internet is a good tool to find answers.

I needed an MBA, and I got it. What I'm saying is that NCU is a pretty easy school to graduate from. Anyone who is at NCU and disagrees, is not being honest.

I agree with Randell, you get what you put into it. There are some graduate programs I really wonder about and then there are some that almost knock your teeth out( like the course I have at UH now). You could get a C in the class that kills you and still learn more than the easy one with an A. It can go vice versa. Remember, there is no uniform code to each and every grad school. They are all different. That is what makes them unique.

Ok, got it. You were a bad student and scammed your way through to an MBA, which you spent about $15k for, and a public confession was important to you.

Super, thanks for the update, got it.

Look forward to your future contributions.

I took and passed LS6010 at the PhD level via DL. This class also was the start of dissertation literature search and this is what added much of the work and interest (My research area was ethics in the aerospace industry).

My experience was that had the about the same amount of work as all but two of the courses in my two master degrees. Of course the difficulty of a subject is relative to ones working knowledge of the subject.

Incidentally, NCU was thoroughly vetted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University thus allowing their faculty earn doctorates there.

    Congratulations on your degree.

Would you care to post a sanitized version of your degree plan? You could then substantiate your claims of completion and I would assume your grades would be excellent as well since the work was in your words "so simple".

    NCU STUDENT

How can you say a school is easy :( Okay, let us say everyone believes you are right that the school was easy for YOU!!! At first when I read your post, I was shocked by it since I'm a new student to NCU. However, I feel I need to warn people who might take your post serious and in enroll in NCU or any university because they think it will be easy. Please remember folks what may seem easy for one person may be very hard for another

For example, I took a course at a different university with a guy who claimed the class was so easy that he was able to sleep through most of course and still get and A. Well that class he bragged about getting an A in was an advanced Biology course that only eight students past out of twenty five. I was one of lucky eight that got out with a C+. Therefore, to him it was easy but to me it was tough.. Look if your one of those who crave lots of extra school work then just ask your teacher to give it to you.....I'm sure there gladly due it...

Anyway, I'm glad you didn't find that program tough for YOU!! It might have been you where really smarter then what you want yourself to believe:cool:

As I read your post, I feel stupid. It took me up to the end of the 16 weeks. I did not kill myself but I put in about 5-7 hours per assignment - 10 assignment plus a final paper whcih as easy.

I put a lot of effort into the class and got a "B". That is after I completed my MS-ITM from TUI with a 3.88 GPA.

I must be the dunce of the universe

    Randell,

One variable between you and she is work. I know you put in a LOT of hours at work, so your time may or may not be limited. I am not sure about her's. That is one variable that can swing it either way. Just my two cents.

I am a current NCU MBA learner. I am very pleased with the course work and delivery methodologies.

I have found the course work to vary with each mentor. Some courses were easier than others. Some courses were extremely difficult.

If NCU is so easy, I must be taking the wrong courses. One of my mentors taught full-time at Purdue and she was awesome!

She worked me very hard and I am grateful to her for the experience. She was my mentor for four courses and I learned a great deal from her. She was the most difficult instructor I have ever had at any college DL or B&M. She had me so rattled, I fell asleep at night reading the APA manual.

All my other mentors were great as well. I spend hours each night working on my coursework. I take my education seriously and NCU has delivered.

There is no way you can get through LS6010 in two days. It took me two days just to write key notes for utilizing my APA manual for the coursework.

My experience with NCU has been first rate and I am proud to be an NCU MBA learner!!!!

Took me thirteen weeks to get through LS6010. I'm with you.

    Randell,
No way are you the "dunce of the universe". I know you (in a way) and you are just fine...Nevertheless, I do not doubt that the poster is telling the truth. I say this despite my dismay over this poster's confession. When I took LS6010B I did imagine how a "faker" or a "bold" person or a "young-and-never-exposed-to-discipline/culture"-type person might mistake the honest and wise guidance provided by NCU as a "free pass". I accepted it as a challenge and I came out of the course completely psyched ...I am a great teacher and I teach myself as I would teach anyone else...the guidelines provided by NCU give me a path to follow and I did follow...and I love it...I am completing my education as I need to complete it - with honesty and integrity. I feel pity for the poster....she lost out on so much...and the grades? I received an "A" for my first course because I was willing to put in many, many hours of details...could I have "passed" with much less effort? Of course. Is that the point? Of course not. Anyway, as the poster pointed out, NCU has tightened up...once a week posting/homework submission/other acceptable contact...has a strong impact. This is good news for those of us who care about quality. I continue to be impressed by my experience at NCU...I am currently fighting very, very hard for an "A"...in a basic stats class (I have had several undergrad and grad courses in the past) but maybe I will and maybe I won't get that "A"...I am getting better real learning in basic stats than I did at either Hunter College (undergrad and grad) or Columbia University (grad) but it is really all about the quality of the learning...NCU continues to be my first choice...I am so happy to be affiliated with NCU...I know they will never let me down and they will continue to grow stronger and more mature...and Randell and cnovick, I take nearly the full time to complete my requirements also...14-16 weeks...
