Anyone taken classes or received a degree from Nebraska at Lincoln. I have seen some posts mention they know people, but never from a student that was enrolled. I am looking at the EdD in educational administration and trying to compare it with TUI and NCU. Specifically, how long the program took to compete. I have already done a search of the boards.

Although it has been talked about here regularly, I do not recall an actual student coming this way. Last I heard, the program was impacted, so you may want to check to see if they are actually admitting new students. No use getting all worked up if they won't admit you (or anyone else) into the program.

I was enrolled in August of 2003, and quickly dropped due to the general ineptness of the program in general. I was interested in the Masters of Education Technology program. The level of support and general functionality of the website was appalling!

Not only was logging in tedious because my password didn’t work for some reason, it also took forever to hear back from the support people who were supposed to fix it. It went on like this for the 2 weeks I was enrolled. (I had to change my password 3-4 times in 10 days.)

I also ordered the text books nearly 4 weeks in advance (I was in Korea) and they charged me a premium for the rush service, but the order never shipped--6 weeks later. They informed me they were ready to ship after I had dropped out in the second week.

Even hearing back from them for mundane things was a very time consuming process. In my opinion, it is very aggravating and user-unfriendly. The program was very unorganized and left me very angry at the whole waste of time and money. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

I completed the distance MS Ed program at Cal State Hayward with very few problems, so I knew what to expect. Unless they’ve changed a lot at Lincoln Nebraska, I’d stay far away from them

I had a very good experience with University of Nebraska - Lincoln distance learning, but I need to qualify this. I was a traditional student for the first couple of years. After that, I finished up mainly with DL and night classes. The independent study courses I took, including a number of video courses, were superb. I found them to be high quality with reasonable rigor. I never had a single problem -- administrative, academic, or otherwise. I received my BS in 1987, so things could be vastly different. I must say I was never "on-line" so I cannot speak to that mode of DL.

    thanks

Thank you for your feedback. You were the first person I have heard from that was enrolled in a Nebraska program, but it is always spoken of as the one of the cheapest options. I had a feeling the program might contain some glitches.
