I'm working on a thesis on the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning. What types of resources are available on the Internet - sites, other newsgroups, etc.? Thanks much!/Lance

The best general portal I've found so far is About.com Distance Learning, which is maintained (exceptionally well) by our own Kristin Hirst. Pretty much anything you're looking for can be found there.

    Good luck!

Be sure to do a search on ERIC (Education Resources Information Center). The url is
    http://askeric.org/Eric/

I also like Dissertation Abstracts, but you'll need access to a university's computer resources for that. Still, the database can be searched at: www.contentville.com

Finally, I'm a big fan of the Library of Congress at www.loc.gov/

All three of these will reveal many previous works in your field of study.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I'll see how it goes. How do I reach you or others that respond? -- as you can see I'm a bit green at the moment to this :)

Just wanted to welcome aboard Judy and to let those of you not-in-the-know that ERIC digests are a great resource for researchers, both traditional and non-traditional. There are ERIC Digests on any academic topic that you could imagine (or close to it!).

(who in another life co-wrote an ERIC digest with the unsightly name "Citizenship Preparation for Adult ESL Learners". I'd wait for the movie.)
