I have a quick question regarding exams (CLEP, DANTES, TECEP, etc.):

If I were to take the CLEP exam that is accepted at my Community College of choice (say, BIOL 1408 at school = CLEP Biology) and then add it to a credit bank at one of the big three (so I could just test out of all of my generals without being restricted to an exam limit), would it say that I tested out on my transcript or would it have a course description?

What if the course description isn't acceptable to the school for transfer but the exam is?

Hopefully, I'm explaining this right, if not, let me know and I'll approach it in a different manner.

    aha!

I think I have my answer (quoted from school catalog):

"Transfer students will be credited with all courses they are entitled to according to the transcript of record and can receive advanced standing if the former institution is recognized by one of the following associations:

Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
New England Association of Colleges and Schools
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
Northwest Association of Colleges and Schools
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
Western Association of Colleges and Schools"

If I am correct, that means that they'll give me whatever my transcript says I'm entitled to have, regardless of description. Am I wrong, does anyone have a differing opinion?

wow, this is a great conversation I'm having with myself....

I realize that all the above says is that I get what it says I'm entitled to. What if the transcript doesn't have the right course description for the courses I need? Say, I need human anatomy and Physiology I and II, what if the course description or testing description on the transcript only says I got half the information I was supposed to...

Okay, I'm getting wound up now...I'm going to let some other people talk before I get excited!

This is the kind of question best directed at the school(s) in question.

It is likely that the gaining school will use the test, not some other school's awarding of credit for it. That would mean the credit bank would award credit and annotate it as an exam.
