I've been looking around but didn't find much. Does anyone know of any affordable courses from say Indian universities that are acceptable for credit by Excelsior?

It's a bit like the outsourcing trend I guess...why pay over 300 dollars for a 3 credit course in a Us university if one could do the same much cheaper from Asia? But, will Excelsior accept these? Does anyone hae access to the Excelsior correspondence course database and does it include any of these?

Ps: by the way, I can't understand why the excelsior examinations and their new correspondence courses are so very expensive!

If you'll scroll down the list of threads you'll discover that within the last 24 hours I've listed two Indian universities with DL programs. Please feel free to investigate.

I've only checked through a couple of the university websites, and so far the answer is "no." There are two points I'd make on that topic however. It's possible that a student, once enrolled, might be able to request a "local" testing center. It would probably be a good thing to even state this outright in the application process, get it out of the way early in the game. The costs are so small that you could apply to a bunch of schools just to see what happens. Also, because of the tinytiny cost totals you might even be able to afford to fly somewhere to an established test center. It's interesting to think about it in any case.
