Has anyone taken courses from Excelsior College besides Info Lit?
If so, can you comment on the quality and rigor of the course(s).

    Thanks for your help!

I found some additional info that I thought might be interesting to share. Apparently, Excelsior courses are offered via a partnership with Indiana University. In comparing Criminal Justice courses, I found if you enroll in the same class via Indiana State (http://scs.indiana.edu/) the tuition is much cheaper. Excelsior charges $240.00 per hour where IS charges $125.40 plus a $45 service charge bringing the cost to $140.00 per hour.

The only difference I see is that Excelsior may be offering a few more classes than IS.

    Indiana U experience

I took five or six IU classes on the way to my Regents/Excelsior degree. Today I looked over the classes listed on the EC website, and noticed that many of the course titles and course numbers looked familier.

I suppose Exceslior must recognize the courses if you went direct to IU, as that is thier typical policy. But if I remeber right, you must enroll at IU (AGS or BGS program) to take courses, at least that is the way it was in the early 90s.

FYI - the IU courses were demanding (I took mostly sociology and anthroplogy courses with them, one constitutional law class) with much writing and "little blue book" (literally) proctored exams.

I'm considering the Excelsior MALS in a year or so (after my M Ed is delivered and my brain clears). I've kept all my college work on Excelsior transcripts just because I can.

I have taken the ece tests before, you brain will be smoked afterwards. The best thing I do to study is get the name of the references for study listed in the guide. Find the companion website on the internet. One with multiple choice tests. Do a copy and paste into a word documents with the questions and correct answers. I will read the document and take the tests online until I almost have it memorized. It is almost like a condenesed study guide. Then take the test. Another method is to look at the contents of the test, then goto the index of the suggested reference and only study those items.

    Good Luck
