I read whereby I can not acquire my TX CPA without at least 15 upper level hours of traditional classroom.

Question, I have to go to school part-time, around work. Have BS in Biology. Have Doctorate in Chiropractic. Want to get my CPA, career change.

Should I go for a master's program? MBA in Accounting? MA in Accounting? OR should I go for another BS/BA in Accounting? And, what should I do about the 15 hours, should I just do all my coursework at traditional, or try to do as much as I can on DL with hopes of xfering?

    Thanks.
    Any suggestion(s) appreciated.

    DocDC,

My suggestion is that you write to TSBPA at [email protected] and ask.

I am in a similar situation: I have non-accounting bachelor's; I started an MBA (non-DL) this year and are considering doing my concentration in acct (12 hrs). A co-worker, who is a CPA, thinks the Board want's to see Intermediate Acct. I & II and Advanced Acct. I & II on my transcripts... but I'll ask the Board first.

Thanks, I just emailed them. I can't figure out the best route, master's or pick up 30 hours or....

    :)
