After much research and reading forums like this one, I have decided to go for my BA in Journalism from Thomas Edison State College. TESC meets a few criteria I set for a program I wanted to study: it's an American RA school that will take CLEP and portfolio credits. I have worked in the journalism field for 20 years, although I only have a few credits I can transfer. I think I will get credit for some journalism courses I took in the military, too. I actually went back and forth between Excelsior and TESC, not really sure which one to go with. But, I have decided to take the plunge and go with TESC. Has anyone else pursued this particular degree from TESC, or from any DL school? I'm curious about the acceptability of the degree by employers and graduate schools. I plan on enrolling at the end of January/beginning of February. The quest begins.
Hi TCord1964: Welcome aboard and good luck in your studies. Some have noted that TESC can be shaky on paperwork. Keep copies of everything (good advice for any student at any school) and you should be fine. Our Catholicos-Metropolitan-Roshi, John Bear, also has a journo degree, so you are in the very best of company. Best wishes, Janko
