I just want to know if anyone else had any luck with the search feature on this site. I've been trying to search various topics using the search and I'm only getting a few results back when I know before there were pages. Maybe one of the Mods can help me out with this.

I recently put in "Charter Oak" and got no responses. I know that can't be right.

The search engine on this board is fairly elementary. For instance, you cannot do phrase searching (as in "Charter Oak"). You can search >>Charter AND Oak<< but you will get threads that have both words in them, though not necessarily together.

I understand that there is to be an upgrade done after the new year. Perhaps it will have a more sophisticated search engine.

In the meantime, try searching the title only. It should improve your results.

    Hope this helps,

    ;)

I didn't use the " marks in my search. I only used them in the post to distinguish what I did use to search.

BTW did it again and got three threads, all of which are active, including this one.

Yep I tried a search yesterday (Tuesday 12.22.04)...and different options, keywords etc. That dog would not hunt!

I had the same results as you when I searched Touro yesterday. Very frustrating.

Same results on a search I've done before for Bellevue and gotten many hits...none now. Glad I'm not the only one.

I've already forgotten who to credit for this but someone said to do a Google search on, for instance, <charter oak site:degreeinfo.com>. It works.
