    Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone on this message board has ever heard of the following website:

    http://www.onlinehumanities.com

Students who take and do well in Online Humanities courses can possibly earn "substantial credits towards an undergraduate or graduate degree" at the following regionally accredited universities: Walden University, Empire State College (SUNY), and the University of Phoenix online. The courses themselves are relatively inexpensive: $75.00 per course and $600 or $650 per certificate program. There are three certificate programs. The courses look rather interesting, and the price is certainly right; however, it seems to good to be true since Online Humanities also seems to be associated with some degree mills. Just check out the college/university link on their website. When I clicked on the links to the colleges listed above, I noticed that the web address ended in .com instead of .edu, and the college website did not look the same as the official website. Therefore, I'm posting some questions here to see if anyone has any legitimate academic experiences with OnlineHumanities and if anyone here would like to do some investigating with me.

    1) Has anyone scanning these message boards ever taken and completed an Online Humanities course/certificate program with Andrew Flaxman, the website's administrator? He says that students write essays that are graded and used to determine college credit. If so, what has been your experience obtaining "substantial college credits" for essays taken through Online Humanities? How does the program work?

    2) Do you think the website is an infomercial for various colleges or home study programs?

Your thoughts, your research, and your opinions are greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Lilith M. Waters

I'm guessing that Donald Hockney and Susan Lowndes are not in the mentoring program.

Like Mr. Flaxman, I intend to denounce "selfishness, egotism and lack of self-knowledge" once I've more money than I can spend.

If your goal is to acquire college credits, I'd advise that you get from these folk some guarantee that their courses will be accepted for credit at specific schools.

Maybe someone in a better mood can be of more help.

    Hi,

I am not sure what they mean by extensive credit. Humanities only consists of 6 lower division credits in the General Education category of a degree. Any excess applicable humanities would be applied to electives/interdisciplinary/liberal arts (this is at UOP). And no, I have never heard of this organization,

That $75.00 is per topic and not per course. These are the topics in the first course. The price per course is $600.00, $600.00 and $650.00.
