Greetings all. Has anyone had "good luck"(easy) with an online Business Policy(Strategic Management) capstone course. It doesen't matter which school I register for the course. I am looking at CSU-Pueblo for the independent route. If anyone can guide me to a good accelerated format but not too strenuous..gee I am asking a lot..I would appreciate it.

Saint Leo University has an online Bus. Policy course that is only eight weeks long. All exams are non-proctored (online). It's a bit expensive though at a little over $1,000.

Try the University of Wyoming outreach online classes.

It is a semester long class through. I took mines there. It is passable class if you put some effort into it. I nearly thought I would not make it through the 20 research page paper for the class. But it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I got a B on it. The teacher is good and reasonable with M/C & T/F exams . I needed this class for Excelsior so thats why I took it.

BS Business degree here I come :) 4 more classes to go

  4. Did you look at the TECEP Business Policy exam, and would your college grant credit for it? I don't know how "easy" it is, but it's probably less money and hassle than taking an online course.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I am actually needing the course for the Excelsior General Business degree. I mentioned CSU-Pueblo because they have an independent study curriculum that is VERY cheap....$297 per course. You can also go at your own pace up to a year. However, I am looking for the quickest route and am also considering TECEP examination. Has anyone taken the Business Policy test? If so, if you still have notes or any insight, that would be great.

Two important things to note about UW Outreach:

    1. As of the 2004-2005 academic year, the business school has placed many courses under controlled enrollment in an attempt to make sure classes are available to degree-seeking outreach students, especially those in the state of Wyoming. As a result, you could find yourself being bumped from a class with controlled enrollment if you are not seeking a UW degree. You can get more info on controlled enrollment here: http://outreach.uwyo.edu/onlineuw/reg/cntrld.htm

    2. UW *strictly* enforces listed course pre-reqs. They will ask to see your transcripts to ensure that you meet the needed pre-reqs for a particular course. They did not used to be so strict about this, but I have been told that AACSB accreditation requires that they strictly enforce prerequisites.

Now, those caveats aside, MGT 4520 is a great course, I had a great time taking it, and I learned a lot. My only complaint is that Dr. Valentine seemed more concerned with the multimedia content of my semester project than the actual content content. But I could just be sore about the "B" I got on that assignment. I did get an "A" in the class, though. Good luck finding your course!

That is true they have gone to controlled enrollment for most of their classes now. But for most of there stuff, I had preq already so not a problem there for me. I had Mr Valentine too.

Also, I have not seen too much independent/correspondence self paced stuff out there for this class, but I pretty sure if you did deep enough you will find what you are looking for.
    Here is one self pace
