I was reviewing my remaining classes with my councilor when we both realized the number of credit hours changed on my transcripts.

I'm attending classes at Indiana State University in Electronics Technology. Someone in the office has change my transcripts based upon a new transfer policy. I orginally had 72 credit hours transfer from Ivy Tech State College into the ISU program. I have several transcripts from 2002 and 2003 indicating 72 hours were accepted. Suddenly, I now have 61 credit hours appearing on my ISU transcript this week. Eleven credit hours were removed. What do I do?

Also, they have added classes to the curriculum from when I enrolled and the ISU councilor is saying I'm responsible for taking those additional classes too.

In short, they are removing credits I have already earned, and adding new classes to the program so I will need to take more.

    What do I do?

Here at UF we were always told that whatever policies/course requirements/etc that we start with and written out in the university catalog are the ones that stay with us until we graduate. It serves as the student's contract with the university and the university's contract with us. I assumed it was the same everywhere, so check there first.

Then I would go directly to the dean of your college.

  3. I concur - otherwise, if they changed the rules every year how could anyone ever graduate?

Usually there's a certain window if changes are to be made that allow everyone to graduate under the old scheme - with newcoming students held to the new policy.

    Cheers,
