My apologies if this has been posted already. I stumbled upon it through an MSN article on distance programs. It is a list, from the University of Oregon, of schools from which they will not accept credits. UO's take is that these are either mills or almost mills... http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/unaccredited.html
Yep, sorry... I misread that part. It isn't from UO. I found it interesting that University of Phoenix was on the list.
I'm glad to see that the good folks in Oregon charged with this responsibility recognize that Bob Jones University, in spite of the fact that it chooses not to be accredited for theological reasons, is still a reputable institution. I did not see, however, Pensacola Christian College listed. One wonders if a PCC degree is considered legal in Oregon.
I thought that list worked as followed: Main body of list: Absolutely not, no chance in hell, completely illegal, don't even bring that crap to our state. The sublist that included BJU and other non-acc. religious schools: Legal for use in the private sector, although government agencies don't have to accept them. Not on the list at all: Perfectly fine, or mills so new they haven't been caught yet. Of course, Pensacola Christian College may belong to the NA agency that accredits all the small fundamentalist institutions (forget the name, but one does exist).
