I received an email from a recruiter at the UOP. I spoke with him one time, just getting some info and stuff. Well he has BEEN HOUNDING my cell phone, calls everyday while I'm sleeping.
What makes this so bad is, I never told him I wanted to start at UOP! He just assumed and took me for granted! I guess he lost his commission on me and got upset

So I decided to go with Saint Leo, online BA degree.

The email I received from this INGRATE, was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Childish in other words, I will post the email later.

I need to forward this piece of garbage to a HIGHER-up and get this CLOWN FIRED!

Assuming this is coming from your local campus, call them and ask for the Director of Enrollments. That person can halt the activity, and is in the best position to deal with the enrollment counselor's behavior.

If you elevate it beyond the local campus (where the enrollment counselor works), it's just going to be sent down to the campus level so it can be handled. So, start there.

I agree with Rich's advice . . . but also, my research on effective complaining (it's what I did my PhD dissertation on) suggests that putting "cc" to a top person, even if you choose not to send the copy, may increase chance of response.

I think that would be (from Forbes list):
    Peter Sperling ,_43
    Source: Apollo Group
    Net Worth: $1.2 bil
    Home State:_Arizona
    Marital Status:_married ,_2_children
University of California Santa Barbara, Bachelor of Arts / Science
University of Phoenix, Masters of Business Administration

Peter's father, John, founded for-profit University of Phoenix for working adults in 1973, took public in 1994. Now schools 148,100 students at 63 campuses, 109 learning centers. Peter serves as vice president.

John's point is well-taken; it indicates to the addressee that someone else above him/her has been made aware of the problem.

(By the way, John's book on complaining Give That Jerk the Bedbug Letter is delightful. The bedbug letter story itself is worth the price of admission.

Copying it to Laura Palmer Noone (President of UoP) might also be helpful. Thanks to John for the tip. :)

    With that, a nap.....

I used to teach at UoP... anyway, when my wife wanted to get an MBA she put in a call to UoP (I told her to forget it). She was also hounded. Best advice I can give? DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION and they can't hound you.

I complained heavily and constantly to several big wigs at UoP regarding several marginal and incompetent Professors at the UoP SJ Campus. The director of the campus had to be literally pulled out of the classroom by his assistant because I called him on a blantent lie (he wasn't used to someone challenging him - I guess he should get used to it) - I received a applause by the entire class for calling the chimp on his lies

I find complaints to the administration of UoP fall on deaf ears. If you have a complaint, file it with their accredidation agency and the DOE. If it persists, you can file charges against UoP with your local DA.

You might also contact your cell phone/telephone provider and see if you can get a call-block on this person's telephone number(s) and also anything else you can do (such as filing a complaint with your telephone company) to stop these calls since the UoP person is using Interstate telephone lines to harass you.

Perhaps you should tell the recruiter that you have enrolled in another school and thank him for his time.

You expressed an intrest so you have established a relationship so they can call you. I am sure you can get him to stop by telling him you are going to St. Leo.

No where in your intial posting does it say you told him you had chosen another school. I always find that being polite and treating others with the respect with which I wish to be treated goes quite a long way.

Calling him an ingrate and a clown does little to demonstrate your professionalism. You did begin the exchange and the recruiter was following up. I don't work there and frankly I am not a big fan of theirs, but it seems he is doing his job. I'm sure this is not the man's dream job but everyone has the right to make a living. You want him fired because he sent you an email you didn't like. Wow, that's brutal. I don't wish unemployment on anyone.
