I know it sounds kinda cowardly to ask this so bluntly but what are the easiest of the standardized tests(ECE,CLEP, DANTES, TECEP.....) ? I'm aware that naturally the lower level ones are likely to be easier than the upper level but that taken into consideration what are the easiest in each category esp Intermediate and Upper Level. I'm not a total loser but if one needs a relatively easy pass for credit here and there..........?
I went in and passed the CLEP Social Science and History with a 62 with no prep at all. It was mainly a process of elimination. I did signicant prep for the other tests I took.
I thought CLEP Humanities was extremely easy - took it absolutely cold and scored somewhere in the 70's. I think I referred to this test elsewhere on this forum as game of trivial pursuit for credit hours. If you know European history, you could handle the Western Civilization I & II exams no problem, although some light revision is probably in order, since the material covered is very broad. Same with the US History exams. I've also heard the DSST Here's To Your Health and Criminal Justice exams are very easy, but I don't have any personal experience with those. The only DSST I've taken is Statistics, and I studied my rear end off for that one. I would caution you against taking a CLEP or DSST exam cold if you're counting on passing to meet a timeline for graduation. If you flunk, you have to wait six months to test again, and you'd feel really silly if you could have avoided that for the price of a few nights of study. The only reason I took the Humanities exam cold is that I knew I could satisfy the same requirement with the DSST Art History exam if I failed the CLEP.
CLEP Intro to Sociology DANTES Intro to Criminal Justice DANTES Intro to Law Enforcement DANTES Intro to Computing DANTES Tech Writing DANTES Intro to Business DANTES Here’s to you Health DANTES Ethics DANTES MIS You could probably pass all these with any studying
This shows that it really depends so much on the person. I agonized over CLEP Humanities, went to museums, read books, borrowed videos from the libraries on various artists and time periods, and I got a 68. With DSST Statistics, I was sort of like bleah, who cares, and I apparently got a perfect score. I found that one much easier.
