Looking through numerous distance MBA programs I found several that meet my criteria (no GMAT, less than $15K, flexible). Most interesting for me are: Bellevue University Jones International University City University, WA in cost and length order. I noticed generally positive info about them here (with one exception: that Jones International is for profit). Is there any specific advantages or disadvantages mentioned above universities? How could they be compared? Thanks! Alex
My fuzzy memory: Bellevue has a reputation for having some of the world's nicest professors. City University has, I think, a reputation for not having the world's nicest professors. I can't remember where I heard this; it could have been here, it could have been in AED, or it could have been in a dream. Anyone remember hearing anything along these lines? Have you given any serious consideration to TUI? http://www.tourou.edu. No GMAT, RA, relatively cheap, and 100% non-residential. GREAT support from professors. Steven King
And while much has been made of the University-International-as-Branch-of-College thing, Touro College really does have a great history; a web search for same turns up some matches in fascinating places. Peace, ------------------ Tom Head www.tomhead.net
Yes, I considered Touro International. But as far as I haven't business degree (I have Ph.D. in Computer Science) I need to have 3 more courses and it is significantly less interesting... Price becomes more than Bellevue (or almost the same for City) but their program looks less interesting personally for me. Plus it looks like Touro International isn't exactly Touro colledge... As far as I am going to stay in software business I think that project management specilization could be the most interesting for me (City and Jones have one). Bellevue is chipest and shortest general RA MBA program I found so far. Alex
TUI is a branch campus of TC. The degree clearly identify this fact under the name Touro University International. I worked my way through its MBA and now Ph.D. Highly recommended and the MBA should cost you aprox. $9600. Eli
Eli, But with 3 prerequisite courses MBA from Touro International costs 13,200 (tuition) and becomes not so clear choice... Alex
If TUI is clearly a branch campus of TC, why is the degree not awarded by TC... which is the model for virtually every other school on the planet???
Why not! Touro University International is a branch campus of Touro College but they are physically located in another state. Most branch campuses of other universities are located in the same state as the parent campus. Under California law, they must be authorized by California (not New York) to award their degrees. Thus, there is a legal requirement for TUI to award its own degrees. Middle States thoroughly reviewed and approved this relationship. Eli
