I'm interested in "testing out" for a degree at one on the "big 3".
The only problem is that I don't live in North America.

Does anybody know about the possibility to do ECE, DSST and CLEP exams internationally, especially in Australia?

GRE subject exams are very widely available see

    http://ftp.ets.org/pub/gre/01736_pbtclist.pdf

    for details.

This is what the TESC website says about TECEP exams for international students,

"All Thomas Edison State College exams administered outside the U.S. must be taken through an academic dean or full-time faculty member at an approved American university; or with the education officer at an American embassy or consulate; or with an administrator of CLEP or TOEFL exams at an approved CLEP or TOEFL testing site. It is not the practice of the College to compensate overseas examination proctors. Students should discuss the necessity for compensation with the proctors themselves."

And this is how Excelsior College replied to a query on the same subject,

"We work with education officers at either the US Embassy or at a Fulbright Commission site to administer exams, in paper and pencil format. To begin the process of site approval, we would need contact information for an education officer at either of the above locations, to verify their willingness to administer our exams, and to determine their testing experience and qualifications."

So it seems that it IS possible, but not easy. Especially if you don't happen to have a US embassy with the required personnel nearby...
