Robin, I know I have responded to your previous posts and also recommended CPU, which I think if you are for some reason seeking a California State Approved school, would be your best bang for the buck. What I do not understand is your desire to seek a Cal. approved and unaccredited school.

Please enlighten me. I am currently enrolled at a unaccredited but cal. state approved university, so there is no bias in my question. I presume that you do not have a accredited degree currently. What I mean is a DETC or RA degree. Am I on the right track?

Please share so that we all can understand your intentions in your educational pursuit.

As far as California American University, your previous post a few weeks ago asked about this school. Even I havent heard of it, but can definitely share many a degree mill or unaccredited but State approved list. This one even hid from my research on degree options. And at 13,500 a year on a doctorate and many additional costs, your would be much better off going to CPU and saving a ton of money. At least CPU, as a State approved school, has some recognition.

You are better off going to a RA or DETC school regardless, and still pay less at some. Have you thought of UNISA.? It is the Univ of South Africa. A inexpensive option and well recognized. Just a thought.

My California State approved school is at least seeking DETC, which I knew prior to enrolling. It was inexpensive and will meet my needs in my field.

Just don't waste your money or your time and feel you have to explain or defend it. Just my opinion and you can take it for what it is worth.

    Good luck either way.

    HI Jonathan

    Thanks for your information.

I do have two (lets say RA degrees). One from an UK University (University of Derby) and a second from a German University.

I thought that California American University is also state approved and there is no difference compared to CPU????

Do you think CAU is a degree mill?

Based on my previous studies, my work experience and an already completed dissertation, they offered me an "easy way" to complete a DBA.
I don’t have to complete all courses!!!

What do you think about this offer?

    Regards

California American University is located at: 1000 S. Fremont Ave. A12, Unit29, Alhambra, CA 91803, which is building A12 room 29

See the campus photos on: http://www.calamuniv.edu/campus_photos.html
    and compare to : http://www.thealhambra.net/ and http://www.thealhambra.net/Photos.htm

The campus exists, but CAU has only a very small part of it (they do not even have a full building).

    THE FOLLOWING IS MY OPINION:
No non-specialized state approved "school" (note specilized programs are excepted, and business schools are NOT specialized) are worth the time and money! Especially when going for a DL degree in business or education! State approved is a way to become slightly bettter than flat out degree mill, but they are working in a small gray area that is becoming narrower all the time.
THE PREVIOUS IS MY OPINION! :p

Robin, I also agree with Mike to a point. What I want to re-iterate to you is this...If the requirements are minimal, then that should be a flag to you up-front. It is why KW is in the situation it is in with Oregon, the law etc. Allowing possibly too much credit for experience etc. can also be alarming.

I, again, do not know much about CAU, which in itself, tells me that isn't good.

The advantage of CPU is that you would learn something. Will cost a 1/4 of what you would pay CAU and it still has utility. It has been around almost 30 years and ONLY focuses on providing what it knows. Minimal offerings, but specialized to a extent. That would be my choice, and you can complete it just a quickly as CAU, but I think would give you a better use.

I have even considered SCUps due to cost and their affiliation with NCU, which leads me to think they will seek DETC again now that DETC is accrediting doctorates from what I understand. But again, a DETC or RA would not be too much more expensive and have far more utility in the world.

Again, I still say a RA or DETC school would be the way to go though.

    Your choice.

I must be getting stupider in my old age, because I understand less and less.

Didn't we just have a thread about this school a week or two ago? See (Here).

If Robine didn't get the answer he/she wanted a week ago, what kind of answer should we be giving now? Has anything really changed between then and now?

Cal American doesn't even offer DL, does it? So if Robine is applying to them, he/she probably lives in the LA area. So why all the fascination with this one particular school? There are lots business schools in Southern California.

Personally, I would give the state approved programs a low priority and would seek out accredited alternatives instead. I would only go with a state-approved program if I had a convincing reason for choosing it. And I would recognize that it's my own responsibility to provide that reason.

    HI Bill

You are completely wrong. I do live in Germany and have no idea about this university!
I am asking for a clear "information" about this state approved university.
