Hi, does anyone know of any online or correspondence upper division math courses? Specifically Discrete Math, Probability and Statistics and Linear Algebra.

Its frustrating but the SFSU math professors won't accept my Discrete Math course from University of Hawaii at Manoa, as it is lower division. Rather, they accept it but I will still have to take an "upper" level math course anyway, as it was a below 300.

    Thanks for any help!

Does SFSU = San Fransisco State University? If so, use the departmental examination option to validate the material you learned at U. Hawaii.

First determine which upper level course is most like the one you took at U Hawaii. Then meet with a professor of that course at SFSU and ask for his syllabus. If you believe that you can challenge the exam for that course then you may well be permitted to do so. I always like to explore the option of a departmental examination before spending money on more classes or standardized exams.

If you don't think you can challenge that exam then taking that class may be the best option.

Thanks for the advice, Coach! Boy, that brings me back to the high school wrestling days........

I'm not sure I can do the exam, as it was a few years ago that I did it last. I'd have to make time to study for it, which takes time away from the other classes I have to take. They don't offer any nighttime math classes however, so I guess I'll have to do it.

Sucks to be a working class student.
