The Concord admissions "counselors" are quite the salesmen. Why is that? And are all of the faculty/staff like that?

And I question their information, too. The counselor I spoke to told me only about 10% of the applicants she interviews are even presented to the admissions committee. I find it hard to believe that it's THAT hard to get into Concord.

Does anyone have any information to share about the admissions numbers, the attidtudes of the admissions staff, and whether or not I should base my view of Concord as a whole on my view of their admissions staff?

Concord worries me for several reasons. They claim to be the nation's first on-line law school but under California law, Concord is a correspondence school and far from the oldest.

Concord is the most expensive D/L J.D. program out there.

Concord graduates DO pass the California Bar but the school's Bar pass rate is not as good as other, less expensive schools.

If you are considering Concord, I advise you to look into these other California D/L law schools:

    Northwestern California - www.nwculaw.edu

    Oak Brook College of Law

    Taft University - www.taftu.edu

There are others as well but graduates from these schools regularly pass the California Bar. Statistics at www.calbar.ca.gov under "bar exam" "law schools".

Well, I am not at all familiar with Concord's educational format. By their definition, they may BE the only truly on-line law school. From a legal standpoint, however, their J.D. degree is exactly equivalent to Taft's. Both are correspondence schools with DETC accreditation. I suspect that from a utility standpoint, the degrees are also virtually interchangable.
