  1. Hey guys-

I have another question for ya'll if you care to listen.

I don't know if any of you have heard of the NCCA (not NCAA). The NCCA-National Christian Counselors Association is a certifying body that grants certification in the counseling industry.

I can't gather from the web site (www.ncca.org) if you can practice counseling without any degree. I am sort of unclear on the requirements to practice counseling. I realize a PHD level degree is needed to prescribe medicine....actually isn't it a Psyd?

See I am very unclear :)

I am interested to hear on what the law says about this subject....if any of you could help that would be excellent.

    Thanks again

  2. Sorry guys-

I just did a search on this subject (duh) and have found an abundance of info...

    Thank you

Psychiatrists prescribe drugs. They are medical doctors and hold an MD degree. In the US, you cannot prescribe drugs with either a PhD or PsyD alone.
