    Hi

I've noticed both Degreeboard and James' Degreinformation DL board are pretty dead. Except for moderator posts and JohnD shilling SRU there really are no posts. Is there another site the anti-accreditation crowd are posting at? Did they really die off that quickly? Thanks!

I wouldn't say that degreeboard is dead. I think that it takes time to get the information about the board out there. If you think about it, it took college hints quite some time to get off the ground before they where shut down.

In my opinion Jame's board is dead because he banned most of the users and is using the board to promote his own agenda. Which, is dissing degreeinfo.

If you read the post's from the moderator his main goal is to promote distance education through the website, the forum is just a side venture of the board.

If given time I think we will all see that Degreeboard.com will be a viable website.

I agree with Michael. Degreeboard looks like an interesting and well-moderated forum. It may take a while to gather momentum. I think it may be a better choice than degreeinfo, which now seems to focus on politics and religion rather than DL.

Well in the last day the only posts have been by the mod. That to me is dead. I can't believe Peter, Dennis, et all are not posting somewhere. :)

Several discussion boards have emerged as "alternatives" to Degreeinfo over the last couple of years. Unfortunately, they tend to de-evolve into anti-Degreeinfo complaint sessions with much of the discussion focused upon personal attacks against Dr. John Bear and Dr. Rich Douglas.

As someone who is involved in distance learning and instructional technology at the professional/career level, I have found many great resources as a result of the people on Degreeinfo who have been willing to share the latest news and tidbits that they discover. Some of the other boards had potential, but provided nothing of any substance that someone in my field could use.
