Earlscroft's Physical Premises

It seems that Earlscroft 'university' has worn out its welcome with February Automation, the otherwise-respectable mailing service which, until now, provided its maildrop facilities.

Earscroft's new 'administration centre' is located at Apartment 11A Turney Road, Dulwich, London, SE21 8LX, a small private apartment in a multi-occupied building.

Unfortunately, they seem to have neglected to notify the local council of the change of use of the premises from wholly residential to mixed commercial, with its attendant liability for business rates (local taxes), or to have obtained planning permission for it. The apartment doesn't seem to have the requisite fire certificate for commercial use within a residential building, either, but in view of my purported incompetence, no doubt there's an obvious and perfectly innocent explanation which I've simply missed.

Out of interest, I made a few enquiries on this today.
The premises vacated by "Earlscroft University" at 393, Lordship Lane, London, S.E.22 are 1,500 sq ft, formerly retail now converted office space, which is currently being marketed to let by Andrews Robertson Co Tel: 0207-703-2662

The premises referred to at 11a Turney Road, London, S.E.21 ( less than 2 miles from Lordship Lane ) is a 2 storey house with dirty curtains hanging and paint peeling from the windows. There is a side entrance to the house leading to two parking spaces at the rear, formerly the rear garden for the property.


Located immediately adjacent to Turney School, the house at number 11 is at the cheaper end of Turney Road which comprises wholly residential properties. There are no office premises there.

Like most of the other houses in Turney Road, number 11 was built around the turn of the century. It has since been divided into two self-contained residential flats, numbers 11a and 11B. The flats do not appear to be Council property.

The local authority for the area is Southwark Council, The Town Hall, London

I have just got off the phone with Dr Richard Pendelton of Earlscroft University ref recent claims by our resident loony Marshall Rice. Dr Pendleton says *11A is an office complex of February Automation a company that has been dealing with Earlscroft for 10 solid years without generating 1 complaint.
They are our mail handling centre, they sort our mail, that is it!. The new address is not a Private Apartment at all, it is actually a large brand new fitted out office complex large enough to deal with our increased mail volume over the past few months. Still the same company nevertheless. If Mr Marshall Rice would like to put these accusations down on paper and send them to us signed with his name and address, we would happilly sue him for harrasment. As for attacks on alt.education.distance it seems that an individual or individuals are purposely making it appear that Earlscroft is behind these attacks, which we are not. Again, anybody making such claims should do so to our o! ffice in writing, including contact details. We will happily sue them too for defamation. I nor any of our employees even visit alt.education.distance . In regards to the legal status of Earlscroft Mr Rice may wish to send these groundless allegations to us in writing*.

 

The 11a Turney Road address is, in fact, a satellite office of February Automation according to the business locator at http://www.londonengland.co.uk/search.htm ; but I'm all for putting Earlscroft in every category, save perhaps the pizza parlor one until proved otherwise.
