    Hi,

I am currently live in the U.S., have both MSEE & MBA, and would like to gather some info on Ph D and/or DBA programs for their cost and route of study (Iprefer via distance learning), please let me know if you have any info concerning the above.

Thank you in advance for your help,

    Peter

The U of Alabama at Huntsville offers PhD in Engineering Management -- your two masters degrees might be a good foundation for this program.

    Hi all,

Thank you for the info - I am not planning to teach, after many years in the engineering field, I just want to move to consulting.

    Thanks,

    Peter

There are some pros and cons with each of the schools that have been put on this thread. You can do a search, or hopefully get more feedback.

TUI just opened their application process again, and are in transition with their accreditation status, so I would either wiat with them, or go somewhere else.

Do you want an international experience. There are many, and if that is the route, the board can make some suggestions.

Some brief comments: You do not need a PhD/DBA to move into consulting (although it may help).

There are only a few US engineering doctoral programs. The main ones for general purpose are in Industrial Egineering either at Colorado State or Univeristy of Alabama in Huntsville, followed by an engineering technology program through a consortium headed by Indiana State. There are a few other special programs (such as the Michigan Tech one) that require some very convoluted steps (very specific corporate sponsership).

Alternatively there are the foreign research only programs (but in my opinion research only is not easier than course work with research).

I went through this same search two years ago and ended up at Colorado State (note I DO want to teach). Using the search function will show the threads were I discuss my search and course work.

BTW if you PM me I will respond (usually - there are a few exceptions (see recnet thread on life thoughts).
