    Hello all!

I just joined this forum, after finding it accidently. I'm glad I did, the discussion are very insightful.

I'm currently looking in to a Master of Science program offered my the University of Bath. The program is a MSc in construction management.

I do not know much about UK universities (expecpt for the obvious big ones London, Oxford, Liverpool etc...). Can anyone tell me what they know about the University of Bath? Is it considered to be a good university?

The program I am considering is accredited in the UK, however it is not accredited in Canada (like most things, Canada seems to be somewhat slow in technology relating to online studies).

Any comments and/or insight would be appreciated!!

Bath is an excellent university. In particular, it is a science and engineering-oriented institution that has an outstanding reputation in engineering and a very good one in management. If you can get accepted, an MSc in construction management from there would be a very fine qualification indeed.

    Thanks Anglea.

Does anybody know of any sites, which rate UK universities.

I would be interested to know where the University of Bath is in comparison to other UK universities.

    Hi Toront-eng

The London Times "Good University Guide" is published annually (it's kind of like Canada's McLean's Magazine University Rankings guide).

Overall, University of Bath ranks in at 11th (out of the top 100 UK universities).

Here's a link to the Times Good University Guide:

    Good luck with your decision!

I’m not sure what you mean by “not accredited in Canada”. You would hold an accredited degree from an English University. It may or may not meet the requirements of the engineering bodies in Canada, but the accreditation is not at issue.

In fact the British Columbia Institute of Technology has a distance program which delivers the University of Bath Masters in Construction Management. Depending on the agreement between Bath and BCIT you might be required to take the courses through BCIT. See:

interesting to see that the degree someone is seeking from UK University is already available through a college in their own country. always do a search for a program locally first. :)

And there are others. In the Toronto area over the past few years I identified:
·Syracuse MSc in Telecom at Ryerson University
·Sheffield Hallam MSc in Stats at Ryerson (through a professor there)
·U of Colorado (or Col State?) MSc telecom at Sheridan College
·Central Michigan U MA in Education at various college sites in Ontario

I’m sure there are others. Note that these are not really DL programme, but B&M programs delivered through a local B&M.

    Best wishes-----Jim
