    Hi!

I was wondering if anyone on this message board would know the answer to my questions. I earned my Bachelors degree in Social Sciences/History and my Associates degree in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison State College using a combination of traditional college classes, credit by examination programs (CLEP, DANTES, TECEP, EXCELSIOR, etc.), and a few correspondance courses. After several years of experience as a volunteer tutor and as a paid tutor, I am thinking about taking some graduate courses and earning another degree. When I was earning my Bachelors degree, I truly loved the flexible methods of earning credits for my degrees--especially credit by examination--which brings me to my questions.

    1) Does anyone on this message board know of any legitimate testing programs that offer credit towards a graduate degree?
(For example, I know Ohio University has a distance learning credit by examination program, but do they offer college credit by
    examination for graduate level courses?)

    2) Does anyone here know of any regionally accredited colleges that offer and accept passing credit by examination scores for credit toward graduate degree in Liberal Studies, History, Professional Studies, or Education?

Thank you for your time and consideration of this posting!

    Sincerely,

    Lilith M. Waters

An alternative to credit by exam is credit via "portfolio" or learning contract. -- Prescott College offers PG degrees this way.
