There has been a lot of discussion on this board and in the general public about the debacle in Iraq. Much has been said about how Bush doesn't care about the troops, how they are lacking sufficient equipment, are living nearly in poverty, etc. Yet, they overwhelmingly support Bush over Kerry. http://apnews.myway.com//article/20041016/D85O6M9O1.html Now, don't come back and say they are afraid to freely express themselves. When Jimmy Carter was running against the incumbent Gerald Ford in 1976, I had a Carter bumper sticker on my car, wore a Carter pin when off duty, had a picture of Carter on my desk, and promoted Carter to my fellow soldiers, etc., and never had one person "dress me down."
