    Hi Guys,

New to the forum and to higher education . I am looking for some advice from all you knowledgeable people on a plan of attack to complete a Bachelor degree in hopefullyvery quick time .

About me ....... 42 years old currently located in London Uk . Plenty of years work experience as Business Analyst and Project Manager within Investment Banking and IT . I am PMP certified and PRINCE 2(UK based Pm cert) . Basically i need to convert my work experience into a degree of some sort, in as quick a time as possible . ( wish i had done this years ago) . I am finding in the current market that despite experience , the ticket(degree) is becoming a prerequisite, hence why I am here !!

My first question is, can I convert a PMP into credit points at all?

Although I am not from USA, I thought a Business or technology related degree through Excelsior College looks like a good choice but I am still grappling with the way the US system works so if I appear vague or a bit basic I apologise in advance. On a side note I have never come across CLEP before until now and thought this maybe a good way to gain some quick hits. My ultimately aim is to get my self in a position as quick as possible so that I am able to start a masters ( probably in PM)

Sorry for the vagueness of it all . Any ideas or comments would be gratefully received

    Thanks

    Peter

I recently had an MBA student with a PMP, seeking credit for it. I checked with the university, who did not award credit for it. I also checked the PMI website to see if there was any indication of this (like an ACE evaluation). Nothing.

    Rich, Peter,

the University of Wisconsin-Platteville will award 6 semester hours of credit for two of the classes required in their Masters of Project Management. The only school I know of that is this gracious. However these are graduate credits so I don't know if they will help in this scenario, but one could use this information as a Portfolio option perhaps at COSc, Excelsior, etc...

Also Amberton has an online PM certificate (4 classes) that can be had for undergraduate or graduate credit. If you have a PMP these classes might also be used for Portfolio development.

    Hope this info helps...

If you've poked around in the degreeinfo archives you may have run into Lawrie Millers BAin4weeks website. Sorry, I don't have the url but you could find it easily enough using the search function. It's a great site full of info on the very subject you've mentioned. Also, I've heard that it is possible to be admitted to the Heriot-Watt University MBA program without having previously earned a Bachelors degree. Perhaps you could check that out as well.

Thanks for all your replies . After research and the over load of information around I have decided to go straight for the masters degree in Project management at Aspen Uni . Apparently they will accept 9 credits for a PMP so seems like the best choice for me ( Thanks for that Link Fed )

Has anyone completed this particular degree at Aspen's ?

Post Aspen and the degree as a Topic and you will receive some well versed information.

Glad I could be of some nominal help and good luck with your effort.

    Regards,
