    This weekend I finally took my first CLEP test, well, I actually took 3 tests!! I passed them all for a total of 15 credits!! 15 credits in one day!

    I took the following tests:
    Info Sys & Applications -> 65 = 3 credits (no study)
    Ana & Inter Lit -> 68 = 6 credits (no study)
    Natural Sciences -> 65 = 6 credits (some study w/Comex book approx. 10 hours or so)

    The tests seemed to be more difficult, but I always scored quite well. 3 tests on 1 day is a bit tough, on the last test I had difficulties focusing.

    I'd like to thank everyone on this board for the motivation and help. Now I've got something like 75 credits. Now I'll take a couple more tests and then I've got to figure out how to take care of the CIS Core requirement for Excelsior BSc CIS.

    Thanks... I'm finally on my way :)

    Here's my tip, if you haven't taken a test, go take one! They are not that bad!!

    Good job!

    Brandon's absolutely right, once I took one CLEP, I realized they just weren't that bad.

    I'm planning on taking the following tests:
    DSST: Ethics in America
    DSST: Cont West. Europe
    DSST: Statistics
    DSST: World Religion
    CLEP: German
    DSST: Drug & Alcohol
    DSST: Environment & Humanities
    DSST: Heres to your Health

    After completing all of these tests I should have all of my general ed and electives finished. Then I need to take tests or courses to fulfill the Technology Core from Excelsior. Any Ideas? ;)

    GRE Subject Exams

    If you're a technology person, how about taking the GRE subject exams for Computer Science, Mathematics, and/or Physics? If your score is high enough, Excelsior will give you a lot of credit -- up to thirty semester-hours per exam.

    I've contemplated the possibility of taking the GRE CS but I don't know if that is the easiest way for me to complete the CIS Core Requirements. You see, I work as a Systems Engineer, and although I took classes in C and Pascal years ago, the only thing I do today which is programming related is VB Scripting.

    Who has taken the GRE CS? What are their comments on this test? Is deep programming knowledge/experience a requirement?

    Besides the GRE, what other possibilites are there? Athabasca and IEEP (?) are some of the names I've seen mentioned on this board. Any other ideas?

    Thanks for your comments,
    Brandon
