I have studied in both the private sector and public sector universities, accredited and non accredited. I remember once a friend told me this and that is when doing the first degree it is the degree that makes the man, when doing the third one (PhD) it is the man that makes the degree.

How true that is especially when supposedly governmental supported institutions are taking students to the cleaners just on the premise that they are supported by the state which legitimises them. A carte blanche to bend the rules. Whilst non accredited institutions face a bombardment of criticisms just because they don't have the accreditation status.

I have this to say and that is an accredited university should not abuse that priviledge of granting so called accepted degrees especially in advertising to the developing world. At times I think accreditation is a marketing gimmick although the original intention is admirable, some may use it to lure the unsuspecting to enrol on a program that sounds too good to be true. Just because it is a governmental university does not mean that double standards are created. Infact alot has to be desired.

Well, enough said and I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience as I had put forward in an earlier thread. Only providence would know who is innocent and who is not!!!
