I was checking out the Haas (UCB) school of business today just for shits and grins. Wow - expensive program. The MBA is a 3 year program that runs either every Saturday or two days a week at night.

The kicker - $80 grand! This is not including the "retreat". Also, the average GMAT is 680.

Sounds like I won't be going here! If I went to a B&M MBA school, I would go to SCU. SCU has a great program that has a lot of connections to the Silicon Valley high tech industry (Intel and AMD to be more specific).

Alas, I will stay at CSU-DH.

A friend just got accepted there. He is writing his ticket now, #1 in the country!

I think they have something like 240 slots open for the evening/weekend course. Very tought to get in. However, you will get the connections needed to get that high paying job afterwards.

The best in the country? Humm - I would like that prize would go to Yale/Harvard - or even Stanford.

I spent some time in the library at Haas last week.

I suppose this is done most places, but I was a little taken aback at the fact that nearly every square foot of the campus seems to have been sold or leased for naming rights, with accompanying signs and plaques. Passing through the Such-and-such Gate into the Somebody's Courtyard, sitting on So-and-So's Bench, entering the Someone's Portico en route to the Someone Else's Lecture Hall, and so on.

--John Bear, in the land where it looks as if
naming rights to the football stadium, formerly
Candlestick Park, then 3Com Park, will go to
Monster -- not the resume service, but the stereo
cable maker (but the resume service must be
    thrilled at the free ride).
