I have come across a Australian based online DBL ( Doctor of Business Leadership ) that not only has a very reasonable tuition, but is a affiliate of Charles Sturt University. Any info on this from some of the pros here? Is it a accredited University? It states the following:
"On successful completion participants are awarded a joint postgraduate qualification from Charles Sturt University and the IMIA."

    The website is http://www.imia.com.au/index.htm

Any info on this program, please provide.

    1. CSU is 'accredited'.
    2. The cost is a bit fuzzy - the coursework costs AUD35,200 but there is no cost for the portfolio - if the costs are unit based that is another AUD35,200 - this is an expensive program by Australia standards.
    3. I cannot see where it is a DL course - I understood when it was set up that it was to be operated f2f from the new Sydney campus - I may be wrong.
    4. It is aimed at Corporate delivery.
    5. By Australian standards a 30,000 word poltfolio is small
    6. This not a first preference course out here.

PJFrench, am I reading this wrong? I maybe not taking into account other costs etc. IMIA shows the following for the DBL program.

    "Program Fee per Subject
    Doctor of Business Leadership (DBL)
The Doctor of Business Leadership enhances participants' capacity to lead large, functionally diverse and geographically dispersed organisations operating in dynamic corporate environments. Many corporate leaders gained their formal organisational positions as a consequence of their performance and meritorious achievements, complemented by general management education in courses such as MBAs. Frequently, however, they have not had opportunities to undertake higher education leadership courses at a level suited to challenges associated with leading a substantial organisational unit or an entire corporation. This program assists participants in preparing to meet these challenges. AU$8,800

When I converted this to US dollars, it appeared to be about $5800.00 if this is correct, then this is VERy reasonable. Any additional input or clarification on the cost? Please let me know

You are correct PJFrench.. After really looking at the costs..It is very expensive. Around $44K US for jsut the 4 double subjects, which I guess are charges at 2 subjects per ( double subject ). Expensive.

    Thanks for replying.

I just looked at $8.8 for us and $8 for you times 4 subjects ... then what about the 4 subject sized portfolio - presumably not free :(

This not Australia's top Business School. The Business Schools at Sydney and NSW Universities have joined and brought in some pretty solid bsuiness based faculty - this seems to be an attempted mirror of this when you look over the Faculty.

Although I have nothing against CSU and work with some of their education faculty or research projects and therefore know how CSU works, you shoudl compare alternatives before making a final choice.
