No catch at all. One just has to work in some ministry assistance with his or her pastor.

The catch is that this is not free -- read the "fine print" from their web site:

"Those who accept the scholarship agree to take GCU courses full time for four years without interruption. The first two years can be completed online and tuition is covered 100% by the scholarship (excluding books and incidentals). Tuition for the junior and senior years is not included in the scholarship, though financial aid is available to those who qualify. Full tuition in junior and senior years is approximately $4,875 per semester. Courses must be taken on campus if online courses are not yet available (we are seeking accreditation for junior and senior online course work). Courses are fully transferable to other colleges. Those wishing to forfeit their 4-year scholarship by transferring credits to another school may do so after reimbursing the Commission Program scholarship fund. Students must meet university admission criteria. Students must complete a financial aid application (FAFSA)."

So a four year degree is going to cost on the order of $20,000.

Which, for a four-year private university, is relatively inexpensive. It's probably a good deal for someone that wants to go to a school like GCU, but who wants to save some money.

However, you had better be very sure that you want to go there and only there. Paying them back could be quite painful should you decide to go elsewhere.
