I am a veteran police officer with 11+ years in civilian law enforcement and several more in military law enforcement (USAFR / USNR). I have over 5 years of supervisory experience and will be promoting to an administrative position within the department soon.

I am trying to determine which accredited college or university is my best bet for getting the most credits toward a BS, BAAS, or BGS with an emphasis in criminal justice studies. I intend to pursue a traditional MS at a local university in the future, but I'm fighting a deadline to get my bachelor's degree (I need it within the next 18 months or the rest of my Naval Reserve years will be enlisted, not commissioned.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer.

For flexibility and speed, I'd recommend Thomas Edison State College, they offer the Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a concentration in Administration of Justice. They accept unlimited portfolio credit and credit by exam, which would probably work well for you. Link is; http://www.tesc.edu/prospective/undergraduate/degree/bshus.php

Best of luck & stay safe,

  3. TESC does sound like a good bet; I'd investigate it. You might want to also check out American Military University and other schools with undergraduate degree programs specifically in criminal justice -- see http://distancelearn.about.com/cs/criminaljustice/
