I have a question for any Excelsior students. Is it just my computer or has anyone else had problems accessing the site for weeks?! Everytime I try to log in it keeps saying unavailable. Anyone else have a clue what in tarnation is going on?

I have been able to access the site. Some of the features such as DistanceLearn sometimes say unavailable, but if I keep trying or try at a less busy time of day they work fine as well.

I have been able to access certain things but anything dealing with signing in to My EC account will come up unavailable. If I want to look at my update or distancelearn or anything related to my personal account when I try to log in the message:

    "Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

I even tried to write them about this but even the contact feature has the same result. Is anyone else getting this response?

Hmm, as I said, I sometimes get an unavailable, but not consistently, and can usually get in to what I want to see through persistence.

I would call them and ask for help next week, since I can't find an email address for technical support. Alternatively, you could email your advising team. I have had them talk to tech support and resolve an issue for me in the past.

Excelsior's "new and improved" website is a piece of garbage.

And I say this as an otherwise very satisfied current EC student.

Excelsior's new website still has a lot of bugs that need to be ironed out.

I have to give them credit though...the site is a lot more attractive than the previous one.

However, they are always conducting updates...which takes down a lot of the functions (links) to the site. Which can be frustrating.

The only complaint I have is, that it is a little rough to navigate around the site. Some previous functions or links are buried within each other which causes headaches to find. So then one needs to use their "search engine" to locate what you are looking for.

The biggest complaint I have heard is that their "Distance Learning Database" has been restricted to those currently enrolled students and their alumni.

Which was a huge resource tool to those in the DL community to assist them in finding various courses across the country.

It has its pros & cons....I can see why restricting the access to enrolled students and alumni...it keeps the information in house.

Though I am the type of individual that will help out anyone who needs information.
So, I can help with that scenario if one is in need of special info. ;)

I'll try contacting them by E-mail and by phone first thing tommorow. I have to agree as an otherwise satisfied Excelsior student, the new website sucks or the least I could say is that it is not "student friendly".

Don't pay me any mind, I just need to vent!:( I have been E-mailing and on the phone all week with Tech Support at Excelsior with no success. They thought maybe it was my computer but after visiting the library and a friends and still not able to get in I know that excuse won't wash. Then they changed my log in info but to no avail, still locked out of my own house  Upset does not do my curreent mindframe justice, at this point I am pi*#@d!!
