For those interested in the public sector, California State University, Dominguez Hills is in the process of starting a new on-line Master's in Public Administration (MPA). It is projected to start in Fall 2001, and appears to be similar to the existing CSUDH on-line MBA in format. Hopefully it will be similar in price as well (inexpensive).

CSUDH is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), the professional accreditor for public administration.

While people in Texas and many other states enjoy in-state tuition for online programs, people in California have to pay out-of-state or a much-higher-than-in-state tuition for CSUDH's online MBA. Is there any online program in California that charges in-state tuition?

Frustrating, isn't it, given the high rate of state income tax and sales taxes? You'd think residents would be given a break here.
Sadly, I cannot think of one.

Also the rolling blackout. You get what you didn't ask for.

FYI, I think Florida Gulf Coast University-- one of the ten universities in the state university system (and the newest, designed to accomodate the rapid growth in southwest Florida) and one which has both residential and distance programs-- also offers an online MPA. Florida's out of state tuition compares favorably with many states' in state tuition, so you might want to check the program out.
