Does anyone know the RAW score required to pass Dantes exams? The DSST website only appears to give the SCALED passing score, 47, 48, etc. For example, most DANTES exams have 60 questions. Out of that 60, what would I need to pass.

I know that the scaled passing score moves a bit, depending on the performance of a pool of test taker. Just wondering if anyone has an educated ballpark number.

  2. Actually, there's a huge variety in the # of questions - most I have taken are closer to 80 or 90 questions in an exam.

I think the general rule of thumb is that to get a passing score (equivalent to a "C") you need to get about 1/2 of the questions right. Also, the scaled score is supposedly set at a mean of 50 with SD of 10 meaning that over 80% of students are between 40 and 60.

    Cheers,
