Anyone have a current experience with Taft's MS Taxation program in terms of rigor and content? This seems to be one of the best DL deals out there for tax accountants, considering the school's DETC accreditation. Thoughts? Dave
I do not have any experience with it. I know that Florida Atlantic and U of Tulsa have MTax programs. William
I was aware of Florida Atlantic and noticed the $890 per credit hour for non-residents... Ouch. I will have a look at Tulsa. Thanks. Dave
Yes, looks reasonable for CA residents and with out of state fees it is in the same range as Tulsa, approx. $600 per unit. Thanks, Dave
Hi Dave, I believe that the tuition is the same for resident and non-resident through the continuing education arm of CSU-Sacramento. Do you have a link to the contrary? Thanks. Also, St. Thomas Law School offers it's LLM (international taxation) to non-lawyers as an MIT (master's in international taxation). Also, Nova Southeastern offers a master's in taxtion program. However, both of them are fairly expensive. Tony
Hey Dave. I was checking FIU and FAU for the program for MTaxes. FIU does not have regular MTAX program it has the EMTAX only, and is about $18,000.00 plus for the program. When I asked for the regular one they told me they have eliminated (this highway robbery without a gun) this as Public school that have tuition for resident for about $232 per credit.,> That is a Big Ouch for locals. Now FAU has the same program and about the same price and also has the regular program with the inconvenience at least for me, that I have to commute at least for an hour and most of the classes are given during the day with a few on the weekend! So you see, is a not a win situation for resident either!
Hi Vini, I would be interested in your opinion of the CSU-Sacramento DL MS Taxation. They seem to be recruiting for Spring 2005. Dave
Very good Program, for me it will be the same, if I take locally here in FL. It seems that admission requirements are very demanding. Additional to the GMAT, Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE). This is from their site: Business Administration Options: Accountancy; Accountancy (Tax); Business Administration; Business Administration (Tax); Finance; Human Resources Management; Management Computer Applications; Marketing; Managerial Accounting; Management Information Systems; Urban Land Development Note - Admission to Accountancy, Accountancy (Tax) and Business Administration (Tax) have been indefinitely suspended. Please contact the Department of Accountancy if you have questions.
Dave an update in reference this matter: FAU: EMATX 30 Credits is about $25,000.00 Do not know what else includes: MTAX Local: $191.04 per credit 30 Credits: About $5,731.20 plus commute and books and other feeds, it possible that come to $8,000 in total. NSU: EMATX 36 Credits is about $18,000 plus books, etc… FIU: EMTAX 30 Credits is about $18,500 includes books, graduation and other goodies I am still sorting thru all this! Nevertheless, it looks like I will commute to Boca!
Masters in Taxation Hi Dave Just wanted to let you know National University offers a MS in Taxation online and they are a RA university. Best of Luck John K
Re: Masters in Taxation http://www.nu.edu/Academics/Schools/SOBM/FinanceAccountingEco/Degrees/720-805.html Thanks. The program seems to be offered online as well at $250 per quarter unit times 54 units for a total tuition of $13,500. The cost is very competitive for an RA institution. Dave
