    Hello,

I was wondering what happened to United States International University located in San Diego? Did they become Alliant International University and are they accredited and note worthy?

I'm getting confused with all of the AIU posts!

I would appreciate hearing from anyone studying business there and any information regarding their reputation.

    Thanks in advance,

USIU merged with the California School of Professional Psychology to form Alliant International University. The overseas campuses of USIU opted not to change their name, I believe.

They are accredited. Noteworthy? Typically 4th tier (which matters not to me, but does to some, I suppose). They do have some limited distance learning offerings:

    1. Master of Arts in Education (online)
    2. Certificate in technology
    3. Master's in Clinical Psych (Japan)

    Thanks Tom,

I appreciate your comments! It doesn't appear to be much there for business at the DL level.

    Thanks again,

Longtime San Diego school, merged as noted above. In trouble financially in the early 1990's, but recovered. Innovative. Not much in DL. Used to be a major provider of Ph.D. programs to working professionals in San Diego; probably still is.

    Hello,
I am attempting to find graduates with a Ph.D. from USIU between 1985 and 1988.
I have been unable to track WASC credentialing information.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Jan H

Welcome to the forum, Jan. Let’s see . . . you’ve resurrected a short 10-year old thread to find graduates of USIS from a three-year period almost 30 years ago?

Yes, many of us super-sleuths can help – the process of finding USIS doctoral graduates from this specific period is quite easy.

But I, for one, won’t. First, if you’re going to be able to find this kind of information on your own, you need to practice your own research skills. Granted, it might take you a few hours to figure it out whereas I could get what you seek in a matter of minutes, but think of how much you’ll improve at such research.

Second, I have no freakin’ clue as to why you would want such information. Could it be a long-lost friend, could it be that you’re stalking someone, could it be that you’re a P.I. (licensed or otherwise) working a case, could it be that you want to sue someone claiming a USIS degree? For some of us to lend any assistance, especially uncompensated at outrageous rates for our brilliant skills and extensive experience, we would require at the very least some juicy, titillating gossip.

Nothing personal, but you’re a first-time poster with, at least, an esoteric but original request. So tell us more, and you might get a lead that will make your search easier. :privateeye:
