Hi everybody. I'm new here and hope to become a regular.

I'm interested in a distance learning course that offers a Bachelors in Psychology. I'm hoping to find an actual major in psychology rather than a concentration or specialization.

I've looked at Thomas Edison State College online, but the fees seemed exorbitant - It looked like $298/credit hour, but then I saw the guided study fees further down - just $99/credit hour. Is that all - just $99 per credit hour plus application and graduation fees? I hope I was looking at the wrong thing initially and that this is all it costs.

    Thanks,

Ok, nevermind. I found some info that answered the question. It's $1115 annual tuition plus $99/credit hour. High, but not as bad as I was thinking.

One thing to remember, Tracy, is that one of the reasons why TESC is so popular is the cost. It's quite cheap for a four year degree. You have to remember, though, that most of the people that go there are going to be using tests and portfolio assessment to dramatically lessen the number of courses which they need to take.

Can you tell me more about the tests and portfolio assessment? I saw that they had their own test, the TECEP or something, but it looked like you had to take it on site at the college. Do they take CLEP or some other kind of exam? I didn't see those mentioned on their website under "ways to earn credit".

    Thanks, Tom.
