What is this "new" (to me anyway) designation of Bachelor of Commerce? I've seen this mainly in UNISA's website. Is there a difference between the BS and the B.Comm? Why, oh why do people do this to me?!?! My poor confused brain was just sorting things out! Steven ________________ I almost fell in love with a psychic, But she left me before we met.
I think that there may be a couple of other South African universities that use this designation too but, you're right, it is different. There are two other related things I've noticed: the first (IIRC) is that the "Com" designation goes all the way up the ladder so that the Doctoral degree is a D.Com. The second thing is that there are other specialty areas that fall into the same sort of pattern. For example you don't earn a BA in Psychology, you earn a BPsych. You don't earn a BA or BS in Administration, you earn a BAdmin. You don't earn a BA in Music, you earn a BMus. The BA degrees seem to come primarily in the Humanities and I guess the BS degrees go to those with science type majors. I don't know why but they're just a bit more specific in the actual designation. Jack
