I know COSC requires a concentration proposal, but does Thomas Edison? It's like pulling teeth to get any straight answers from them.
My 60 year old mom is 3 credits away from her COSC BA (!) and had to rewrite her proposal 4 times before they accepted it. Thats why I'm asking about TESC.
    Thx!

TESC's application and enrollment procedures are very straightforward. I never had to send them any sort of essay in order to apply. In fact, their application form can be submitted online.

If the essay was accepted and she is only 3 credits from her BA, why look at other schools?

COSC and TESC have different requirements.

    Thanks for the TESC info.
And, the other school info is for me. My moms enrolled in COSC and I'm still undecided.
    Thx again!

I looked at Excelsior, TESC, and COSC. I went with COSC because they were the easiest to work with. Also, they did not have an age limit on technology credits, other schools woudl not accept credits greater than ten years old.

I think COSC is a great choice. I had my essay rejected the first time and I was really upset. As soon as I found out what they wanted, it was smooth sailing.

    Good luck.

    hi randall,
italked to my mom more about the rejections and she said each time it came back her coordinator really almost held her hand and guided her, helped, offered tips and suggestions until they accepted it, so having my own mom back up all that i've read about COSC i think i'd be an idiot if i chose a different school!
i'm at the half way mark, 62, so i have a ways to go.

I was able to go from about 62 to 130 in about four months. Check out the BA in 4 weeks website if you have not already. It was a great help to me. Also, I looked at the military passing rates for each exam. If the exam would count as an elective and it had a high passing rate, I took it without studying.

This worked for me because I was in the Army Reserve and the exams were free so I had nothing to lose.

    Good Luck.

62-130 in 4 months!? i'm not that gifted. speaking of which, i've come to know lawries site by heart, and i couldn't take exams with no prep. guess everyone has their own way of studying. i need to be very prepared. (i do have a handful of her recommended books though).

what takes up most of my time is lurking thru this site and degreeforum.com to see which are the best books for an exam. one book helps one person, but falls short for the next. frustrating.

i'll make it though, no matter how long it takes, i've come this far on a long road. or at least feels like it!
    :)

From what I've heard, I agree that COSC sounds a lot more supportive than TESC. Either way, you can test out of a lot, and get that degree quickly. 6 to 130 credits in 7 months here with TESC, very similar to your rate of progress!
