I wrote this in an earlier post when I was fishing for info on a DL psych program, and would like some feedback from Walden veterans:

As for Walden, I'd love to hear more about their programs, but their admissions people seem flaky; numerous emails have gone unanswered & every request for info just generates another basic info package to my mailbox. If there are any students or admin from Walden lurking here; I'd love to hear from you either in this forum or via email. In theory, Walden looks good, but the lack of specifics in their literature throws up warning flags: i.e., is it designed to provide a quality education, or is it a haven for perpetual student types looking to avoid reality and/or defer their student loans?

You mean there are NO Walden students, alum, or administration on this board??

Not all that surprising. In the six years(ish) that I've been around, we've probably not seen more than a couple Walden grads here and no one that I recall on a regular basis.

We've certainly had more Union people wander through. We've also had bunches of TESC, COSC, and Regents/Excelsior folks.

Yes, but among the lurkers, we have the presidents of Berne and Somerset and American Global University (and the founder of the World Association of Universities and Colleges).

Its quite amazing that this board is full of people searching long & hard for Dl degrees from Australia, etc., and not a single Walden person is around. You would think it would be more popular. (another red flag of skepticism re Waqlden in my opinion) Or is it Walden's cost?

I applied ,as was accepted , to both Warden’s and Capella’s Psych program (Ph.D.)
Both programs have their pros and cons.
Walden , which is considerably more expensive to begin with , refused any transfer credits from my Masters program. This was because my degree was over ten years old as of February of this year.
Capella , on the other hand , allowed me 8 courses out of a maximum of 10.

I think that says quite a bit?

p.s. Is there any more politically correct term better than LURKER ?
How about “less active participant” “.
