Each exam depends on the individual Hey cap22, This is a very individual response. One clep might require no study for one, yet nearly impossible for another. Study time, the right study strategy and tools, all will help you pass. Here are a few tips which will help immeasureably: 1. www.BAin4weeks.com : Lawries site will give you the difficulty index of the exams you mention. he also has great tips on what books to study. 2. www.degreeforum.com ; Mark's site has a LOT of great CLEP and Dantes strategies, hints and tips. Go to the forum section, and look in the CLEP or Dantes help sections. 3. www.eBay.com: great place to pick up your study materials. Comex, and CLEP guides/tools by Xenia are particularly helpful. 4. Deep Thought by KAL. A natural herbal supplement that increases short term memory. This stuff rocks! With as many exams as you have listed, you need every trick you can get. Don't skip this one. Make sure you are rested for each exam too. Exhaustion and dehyration will severely dampen your recall, and chances to pass these exams. 5.www.instacert.com ; an online study guide was invaluable for me on certain exams. It was worthless on Business Finace, but very helpful on Management, Supervision, Business Law and countless other exams. They have a 30 day guarantee, so if you don't like it, ask for a refund. I felt it was more than worth it. I am sure others will post some great tips, but these will certainly help you pass each of the exams you've listed. Good luck.
Hey Cap 22, The following links represent the pass rates on Clep exams taken by military examinees. Although these pass rates might not perfectly reflect the pass rates of civilian test takers, they should provide you with an idea on the difficulty level of each exam. http://www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_web/examinations/clepsubject-text.htm http://www.dantes.doded.mil/dantes_web/examinations/clepgeneral-text.htm
I passed Intro to Psychology with a 64 using the study notes by Sheryl Spencer AND studying and understanding the first four chapters of an introductory psychology text. I did pretty much the same thing (sans Spencer guide) for the DSST Criminal Justice exam. My experience with these exams is that nothing is free. If I know nothing about psychology, then I best learn about psychology, then take the exam. Had I not studied and really absorbed the material, I would have fallen flat on my face on both. Some exams are said to be easier than others. Since I don't need any more lower level credits (I just earned an associates degree in 11 months with a combination of traditional and on-line self-paced courses, class challenges exams and military evaluation credits at my local community college), and my major at my chosen school (Bellevue University) is pretty set in stone, I won't be taking any more of these exams. Good luck in your quest. Just remember, the exams are not about getting away with anything or scamming, but they can be a very useful tool for learning on your own in a self-paced way if you are starting from scratch, or demonstrating real proficiency if you have real proficiency.
